Can I bring a friend?

You can, however we strongly ask that you don't as we only have very limited space. Under no circumstances can you bring anyone under the age of 18 years old into the studio.

Can I get a tattoo with a medical condition or if I'm on medication?

In most circumstance it is absolutely fine to get tattooed with a medical condition or if you are on medication, however there are some that may cause an issue, so we would always recommend checking with us or your medical professional first.

Does getting a tattoo hurt?

Simply put, yes.. they can be a bit uncomfortable. However you will always get people that say they don't hurt and some that say they do. Each individual is different and the size, location and style of the tattoo all play a factor, so keep this in mind when planning your tattoo.

How old can I be to get a tattoo?

You have to be 18 years or older to get tattooed by UK law. There is no exception.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Yes, all bookings require a non-refundable deposit to secure your appointment.

How long does it take for a tattoo to heal?

The healing time for a tattoo or piercing depends on various factors, such as the size and location of the tattoo or piercing, the individual's immune system, and how well they follow the aftercare instructions provided by our artists. Generally, tattoos take about 2-4 weeks to heal fully.

Is everything hygienic and safe?

At Three Jacks Tattoo, we adhere to strict hygiene standards, using one use equipment and high-quality inks to ensure a safe experience. We are fully registered Cardiff County Council and all artists hold a current personal special procedures licence.

Do you offer walk-in appointments?

Yes, we do offer walk-in appointments for smaller tattoos, subject to availability. However, we highly recommend booking an appointment in advance to ensure that we can accommodate your request at a time that works for you.

How do I look after my new tattoo?

Here’s a comprehensive guide to follow after getting your tattoo.

Immediate Aftercare (First 2 Hours)

Leave the Bandage On: Keep the bandage applied by your tattoo artist for 2 to 10 hours to protect the tattoo from airborne bacteria and contaminants.
Wash Your Hands: Before touching your tattoo, ensure your hands are thoroughly washed to prevent infection.
Clean the Tattoo: After removing the bandage, gently wash the tattoo with lukewarm water and mild, fragrance-free soap. Avoid scrubbing; instead, use your fingertips to clean the area.
Pat Dry: Gently pat the tattoo dry with a clean paper towel or a sterile towel—never rub the area.
